BioWorking for an insurance company is what pays my bills and the rent, but my passion is volunteering for ORPHANetwork, a local orphan care ministry based here in Virginia Beach which helps orphans in Nicaragua. I have been 6 times to visit Casa Bernabe Orphanage and am about to go on my 7th. I just love being down there. I have really bonded with a lot of the kids and we write letters back and forth, and I have made some really good friends with the adult staff at Casa Bernabe, two of whom have become my very best friends. I don't speak a whole lot of Spanish, but I get by and it doesn't really matter because we just spend a lot of time hugging each other.
I am also getting better at reading and writing in Spanish because I frequently email back and forth with my two best friends.
